Barbara paints primarily from reference photos which she, her husband and friends have taken. Her focus when approaching a new painting is to capture the mood which inspired the photo or still life set up in her studio.

Professional membership and Recognition
Barb is a juried member of Arizona Art Guild, Arizona Art Alliance, Vanguard Artists, Wickeburg Art Club. She is also a member of the Association of Pastel Society, the Chicago Pastel Painters and the Sun City Grand Art Club.
It is through these memberships that she has received several awards and has been juried into many shows both statewide and national:

Third Place “Meandering Stream” Pastel2005 APAA Juried Show People’s Choice June Babcock Memorial Award
“A Touch of Fall” pastel2005 Arizona State Fair Honorable Mention “Just Peachy” watercolor2006
APAA Juried Show Honorable Mention, “Grand” pastel2006 Wickenburg Art Club Fine Art Festival First Place in Watercolor Division for “Double Dip.”
