Barbara paints primarily from reference photos which she, her husband and friends have taken. Her focus when approaching a new painting is to capture the mood which inspired the photo or still life set up in her studio.

Barb is a juried member of Arizona Art Guild, Arizona Art Alliance, Vanguard Artists, Wickeburg Art Club. She is also a member of the Association of Pastel Society, the Chicago Pastel Painters and the Sun City Grand Art Club.
It is through these memberships that she has received several awards and has been juried into many shows both statewide and national:

While I know this is "in progress" I think it needs more modeling shadows to the left of the right side of that vase, or whatever that is, leading towards the basket with the kitty. This would be the vase at the right (as we look at it). Also some more grounding shadows on the stones on the floor underneath the basket where the kitty is. This is a super photo and I think will make a great painting subject...onward!
